What is Cyber Monday?
Cyber Monday starts the Monday after Thanksgiving every year, in the United States. Black Friday weekend signals the beginning of the Christmas shopping period for many, especially this year with Thanksgiving falling so late in the year (Nov 28) and Cyber Monday is a further day where you can grab great discounts. It's a time when many retailers drop prices on stock old and new across their portfolio.
When is Cyber Monday 2024?
Cyber Monday 2024 starts at midnight Monday December 2 and ends 23:59 Tuesday December 3, lasting only 24 hours so it really is your last chance to get great bargains on products you've been eyeing up or Christmas gifts.
Good morning and Happy Cyber Monday!
It’s a windy but pretty morning here in the UK, and we’re ready to bring you all the best Cyber Monday deals. It’s day 8 of Kimberley’s 9-day working stint, and then she is moving house on the 10th day…genius planning there.
Anyway, coffee has been brewed, cat has been fed and sufficiently fussed over, brain has been located and installed — so settle in, and let’s get saving.
We'll be back shortly with some tempting Cyber Monday deals!
PRICE CHANGE
We’ll get the bad news out of the way first — our favorite binoculars for stargazing, the Celestron SkyMaster Pro, has increased in price since yesterday. Amazon were offering a $35 coupon to apply at the checkout, making them $210.65, but today they've taken the coupon away, and they don't seem to be in any Cyber Monday deal at all.
We’ll keep track of this throughout the day, but they’re still a decent price at $245.65 and are, otherwise, the cheapest they’ve been since April.
The only other price change we've seen is an odd one...
The Celestron StarSense Explorer DX 130AZ was in a Cyber Monday deal of $365.74 yesterday (Sunday) yet today (Monday) it's NOT in a Cyber Monday deal...but it's $10 cheaper. Make of that what you will!
Amazon's gonna Amazon...
If you’d rather see the night sky from the comfort of your warm home than have to put on your coat, hat and gloves and venture out into the chilly darkness to see it with your telescope, this Govee star projector deal will bring the cosmos indoors.
Govee Star Light 8 projector now 55% off — save $100 and get it for just $79.99 at Amazon
We haven’t reviewed it so we can’t personally claim whether it’s one of the best star projectors, but when we compare it at a glance to some of the others we have had our hands on, it seems pretty good! There are mixed reviews, some excellent, some…not so excellent, but overall it has a rating of 3.8, with over half of the reviews rated 5 stars.
It comes with 8 discs and offers 38 scene modes to choose from, including a sleep, universe, natural, emotion, thunder & rain and festival series, and the choice between ‘diffusion’ or ‘gathering’ movement modes makes it look like you’re shooting through the stars at warp speed, as opposed to most other star projectors which just rotate.
You can control it straight from your smartphone using the Govee Home app — not to mention, it’s also Alexa and Google compatible. Plus, it has a built-in speaker with 37 different noise effects that match the projections.
(Also, if you love to annoy your neighbors, Govee have a load of fun outdoor holiday lights for your house on offer for Cyber Monday!)
Calling all Swifties! Earlier in the year Taylor Swift was spotted using the OM-D EM-10 Mark IV, and it’s now the cheapest it’s been in over a year! To celebrate, let’s see how many Taylor Swift puns we can fit into one post…
Are you…Ready For It? (OK that was an easy one).
If you’ve bought Nothing New this Cyber Monday, then we hope you have your Eyes Open, as the OM-D EM-10 Mark IV is now at its lowest price in over a year. You no longer have to be Haunted by your old, sad camera from years gone by — we know the feeling All Too Well. And if you’re only ever left with a Picture to Burn, you don’t need to tolerate it for evermore. There’s no need to be Down Bad crying at the camera store, ‘tis the damn season to treat yourself to an upgrade!
Because of course, you’re going to need a reliable camera to take a photo when you arrive at the very first bridge of the evening! If you're going to be shooting astrophotography, let's hope there's no Midnight Rain.
OM System (formerly Olympus) has a fantastic reputation for producing cameras that never go out of Style. With two dials on the top of the body, it couldn’t be easier to Change your settings and capture the images of your Wildest Dreams. From Daylight to Midnights, Forever Winters to Cruel Summers and august Back To December, The OM-D EM-10 Mark IV will see you through all your Eras.
Long Story Short, you don’t have to be a Mastermind to see that the OM-D EM10 Mark IV is Gorgeous, and you should buy it. But be quick, as it won’t be around come New Year’s Day.
Those of you who were here on Friday and Saturday for our Black Friday live blog may have been keeping up with Kimberley’s impulse photography purchases — and we are excited to say that one of the deliveries will be arriving today! Not the fun camera and lens one, sadly, but we’ll be here to show an unboxing of the accessories and photography essentials that she bought...whenever it arrives.
In the meantime, to help us all get through a chronic case of The Mondays, here’s an adorable photo of a red panda, taken by the editor of Digital Camera World, James Artaius, when he reviewed the Nikon D850 for us. Coincidentally, you can pick up the Nikon D850 for $2,029.95 at Walmart for Cyber Monday. We rated it as the best DSLR camera for wildlife photography AND astrophotography.
Our fitness guru will be taking over next to bring you the best Cyber Monday health & fitness deals!
Good morning! Our health writer, Anna Gora, is jumping on the live feed. We know that the New-Year-New-Me wellness kick is still weeks away and hardly anyone has thought of their fitness goals for 2025 just yet, but hear us out. This public service announcement may save you some serious cash later.
January is traditionally a big harvest time for fitness brands, and understandably so. This is a time when many people invest in new exercise equipment and fitness trackers, trying to get back in shape after Christmas indulgence. This is also a time when prices of these goods tend to spike up (though they are still disguised as deals, of course). But, here is the thing. You still can get fit without draining your wallet — just make sure you buy your fitness gear during the Black Friday sale. Check out our top deals on fitness trackers and exercise equipment for some tried-and-tested ideas 😊
Speaking of fitness trackers — this superb deal deserves to be shouted about from the rooftops. One of our favorite value smartwatches, the Amazfit Balance is now 30% off at Amazon, saving you a round $60. This brings its price down to just $139.99, making this neat watch the cheapest it has ever been. If expensive Garmin watches intimidate you with their complex specs, but you also find cheap Fitbit or Xiaomi bands just a tad too basic, the Amazfit Balance will be right up your street.
This watch was one of the biggest surprises of 2024 for our health writer. During our Amazfit Balance review, we were impressed with how exceptionally compact, sleek and comfortable to wear it was, and how it managed to deliver top-notch tracking results while maintaining an affordable price. More importantly, it is one of the very few fitness trackers that take your sleep and stress levels with the seriousness it deserves. The Amazfit Balance is designed to help you strike a perfect balance (you see what they did there) between exercise and recovery, and it does so in layman-friendly terms.
It may not be the most durable wearable we ever tested (if so, it would likely price-match some of the best Garmin watches), but for just $139.99 it is an absolute steal. A fantastic way to save cash before the January fitness craze officially begins.
This telescope has sold out!
The Celestron StarSense Explorer LT 114AZ has sold out at Amazon. Annoyingly, Amazon was the cheapest place to buy it, (hence why it sold out), but while they work on getting it back in stock, here are the next best deals.
Target: $269.95 (comes with a 2-in-1 red flashlight and portable power bank)
If you’re in the market for one of the best Sony cameras on the market, with glue-like autofocus accuracy and massive 61MP images — the Sony A7R V is still on sale for its lowest ever price of $2,799 at Walmart.
Kimberley reviewed the Sony A7R V over at our sister site Space.com and loved it so much that she just bought herself one over the weekend. During her review, she took it to Copenhagen to capture the magic of the beautiful Danish capital. Not only is it great for cityscapes, but its AI-powered autofocus makes it one of the best cameras for wildlife photography.
What’s the one thing you cannot do astrophotography without? A camera? Ok…yes, a camera. A lens? Alright, yes, that too. Patience? Absolutely, but that’s not what we meant.
The one crucial component of astrophotography is a sturdy tripod. Long exposures require still-as-a-mouse conditions to avoid blurry images, and one of our favorite tripods, the Benro Mach3 9X CF Series 3 tripod is now $60 off at Amazon. We gave it 4.5/5 stars in our full Benro Mach3 review.
It’s a breeze to set up with large, soft twist locks, and the foam padding makes it easy on the hands on a chilly night when you need to carry it. It comes with a padded bag and a set of spiky feet to help steady it when you’re shooting on soft terrain. The only thing missing is a central column, which we found unhelpful when we wanted to mount a pair of the best binoculars for stargazing on it as we couldn’t adjust the height. But for astrophotography, it’s fantastic.
Professional photographers want the best of the best, and are, for the most part, able to pay for it. But that doesn’t mean we don’t still want a nice Cyber Monday saving, right?
The good news: The Sony A1 is its lowest-ever price of $5,019.95 at Walmart.
The bad news: The Sony A1's 'lowest-ever price' is still a lot of money at Walmart.
Yes, it is expensive. However! That is the lowest price we’ve seen it so far, likely in thanks to the recent announcement of the Mark II, so if you’re ready to invest in yourself and your photography career, this is truly an outstanding camera that’s worth every cent. But you'll need to be fast, we don't know if this price will increase again after Cyber Monday.
During Kimberley’s Sony A1 review, she took it to photograph the puffins on Skomer Island and the results were just unreal. Paired with the Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM II, she was clinging onto her camera bag (that had a total worth of about $10K) on the boat for dear life — “If I fall in, save the camera” — and the amount of detail we could retain after a very heavy crop in the images was just unbelievable.
Hello - Kate here, on the hunt for good health and fitness deals. So, sound the lowest ever price alert! The Beats Studio Buds are just $99 on Amazon for Cyber Monday - and that's with two years of Apple Care. That's a huge 44% saving on the usual price.
Nothing motivates you through a workout like a good playlist. Some of us are old enough to remember making mixtapes on actual cassettes. Gulp. But while modern over-ear headphones are great for comfort and travel, for fitness we think in-ear works best.
As our reviewer noted, when it comes to setting up and using, they are not dissimilar to AirPods - they connect pretty seamlessly to Apple devices or whatever other Bluetooth device you want to use. The charging case offers up to 36 hours of battery life, and they are super comfortable.
Your only issue is, as with all charging cases small enough to fit in a pocket, that you will lose hours of your life to trying to remember which pocket you left them in. Oh, wait, is that just us?
Oh, and if you don't want the Apple Care package, you can get them at the bargain price of $79.99
It's a real surprise to see so many discounts on Apple watches this Cyber Monday - after all, series 10 only came out a few months ago and already you can save $70.99 on Amazon, bringing the watch down to $329. But the deal of the day has to be an Apple Watch for just $169. That's the SE 2022, which at Live Science we think is still the best Apple watch for the majority of people. Our reviewer gave it four stars, and the main negative is simply that the face is smaller than some of the more expensive models. If you have small wrists though, you might prefer it!
It's obviously got all the great features you'd expect, like the ability to take calls, reply to messages, countless apps and so on - but in addition, it's a really good fitness tracker. It tracks your sleep and heart-rate variability, both of which are really good indicators of your recovery, whether from a hard workout or the stress of spending the weekend scouring for the best deals. (No? Just us?) You can track specific activities from HIIT sessions to dance via yoga and swimming.
Our reviewer, however, did note that it doesn't have options for tracking what happens when you jump out of a plane. So apologies to James Bond and Ethan Hunt, but you'll have to look at our top-end fitness-focused smartwatches round-up instead.
Shopping Cyber Monday for children and in need of present ideas? Get them a fitness tracker too and start them on that lifestyle of healthy habits. The fantastic Garmin VivoFit Jnr is is discounted on Amazon by 22% bringing it down to $69.99 today.
It really is a great way to motivate kids to move more, without getting too serious about it. Good children's smartwatches are all about doing the basics well, and utilising that natural desire to copy what their parents wear. All without spending a fortune or encouraging them to become slaves to a screen.
The Garmin VivoFit Jnr works with an app - but one controlled entirely by you. You can assign chores, schedule alarms or even reward good behavior (come to think of it, should add that to adult Garmins). Oh, and it runs off a cheap replaceable CR2025 watch battery which lasts about a year, comes in different designs and is waterproof so they can even use it in the pool.
There are of course cheaper options - like the Biggerfive which has dropped in price for Cyber Monday too, from $35.99 to $29.59 on Amazon. But if you want a quality watch for children around 4-10 years old, you'll want something durable and robust from one of the best brands around.
Looking for a gift for a runner - or someone who spends an awful lot of time on their feet? Then get them the OOFOS OoAah recovery slider, now at 20% off for Prime Subscribers and down to $47.96 - and wait for the gratitude.
Yes, they are 'just' sliders, but boy, will tired feet thank you for them. They have some serious cushioning in their patented footbed design that really does help ease the aches and discomfort of a long run, or a long day. In fact the makers say their foam absorbs 37% more impact than traditional footwear materials. All we can say is at the end of a marathon, it certainly feels that way.
This is a deal just for Prime subscribers, so snap it up if you can - we don't often see OOFOS discounts as they have such a cult following in the world of distance running. Yes, there are cheaper imitations on the market, but with the design being patented, they probably don't offer quite the same blissful relief for your feet.
We bid farewell to Kate as she is logging off, and we welcome back our health writer Anna Gora. You know what this means — even more excellent deals from the health and fitness world. This time, we are pivoting from small fitness trackers and activewear essentials to something much, much bigger. Drumroll please, here comes an excellent deal on one of the best rowing machines we tested.
The Hydrow Wave rowing machine is now $250 off at Hydrow, bringing its price down to just $1,445. This means it is now at its lowest-ever price. This deal is also available at Best Buy and Amazon. Why are we making a fuss about this offer in particular? We do not tend to see many good discounts on top-quality gym kit, Black Friday or not. To put it into perspective, the iconic Concept2 RowErg has stuck to its full price for the entire Black Friday weekend, and this rower, though undeniably an excellent piece of kit, does not even feature any high-tech frills like an interactive screen. The Hydrow Wave, on the other hand, has all the goods.
Our reviewer loved using the Hydrow Wave, rating it as one of the best rowing machines on the market. It offers a lovely frictionless row, engaging workouts and loads of handy fitness content for the rowing newbies. Even if you have never rowed before, this machine will get you going in no time.
Can you make rowing fun? Yes, you can. If you struggle with sticking to your exercise routine (and we know how hard it can be in the run-up to Christmas), this deal can save your gains from the December malaise. The Aviron Strong Series Rower is more than just a sturdy and reliable piece of kit. It is a fun-filled workout station that will get you hooked on exercise, whether you are a beginner with mobility issues or a semi-professional athlete. The best part? Aviron is now offering a huge $500 discount on this fabulous rower, bringing its price down to just $1,999. You can also get this deal on Amazon.
What did our expert reviewer like the most about this machine? GAMES. Games and races. It is just so easy to forget you exercise with the Aviron Strong Series Rower. Trust us, you will be way more focused on winning the fish game (as pictured above) or scoring more points than your opponents in the Power Play races. Fishing is not your thing? Not to worry, you can play a Pong-style game, protect your ship from pirates or even stop an alien invasion in its tracks. As one online user concluded, "The Aviron Strong Series is worth every penny." And we thoroughly agree.
The great thing about beginner telescopes is that they’re incredibly easy to set up and use, but they tend to get outgrown very quickly. They’re great if you are happy just looking at the Moon and some planets with them, but if you want to see anything further afield, or have some kind of database or automation so you don’t have to spend ages trying to find your chosen target — smart telescopes are the future.
The one we’ve got our eye on is the Vaonis Vespera Pro, now $500 off at Amazon. We haven’t had a chance to review the Pro yet, but our managing editor gave full marks to the Vaonis Vespera II and said it was one of the best telescopes ever released. It’s amazing for beginners or anyone unfamiliar with the night sky or how to use traditional telescopes — even though it requires a higher initial investment than most beginner scopes.
Tiny, pocket-friendly binoculars can often be lacking in optics, but these Zeiss Terra ED 10x25 binos are the exception. With Extra Dispersion glass, they more than satisfy the high standards of nature lovers.
We haven’t reviewed them, but users have given them glowing Amazon reviews, praising their compact and lightweight frame, making them easy to carry and use for long periods. Many users also love their clarity for birdwatching, and their waterproof and fog proof nature means they won’t conk out on you if the weather turns.
With 25% off the Zeiss Terra ED 10x25 at Amazon for Cyber Monday, these fantastic little binos are great value for money.
“What’s in our camera bag?”
Every photographer needs a well-stocked camera bag, so here’s how ours is looking right now…
Sony A7 IV — In our Sony A7 IV review, we said it was the best Sony camera for astrophotography. Now $1,859.94 at Walmart.
Sony 12-24mm f/4 G —Great for wide-angle landscape shots, aperture likely not wide enough for astro. Now $1,329.95 at Walmart.
Sony FE 35mm f/1.8 — An amazing compact and lightweight lens for travel. $648 at Amazon.
Sony FE 85mm f/1.8 — Beautiful for portraits or wildlife (if the animal isn’t moving around a lot!). Amazing price of $450.97 at Walmart — and there’s only 1 left!
Power bank — For keeping everything charged during long nights of shooting the stars — this Anker PowerCore 10K is 35% off at Amazon.
Binoculars — The Celestron UpClose 10x50 in our bag aren’t on offer for Cyber Monday, but you can save 31% on the Nikon Aculon 10x50 at Amazon.
Urth lens filters — Lens filters help eliminate glare, color casts and enable you to shoot super long exposures — save up to 40% on Urth lens filters at Amazon.
Flashlight — A reliable flashlight is also important for astrophotography, particularly if it has a red light. This flashlight with white and red light is now under $14.
SD card holder — Important for keeping your cards protected in one place. There are loads of great SD card holder deals under $10 at Amazon.

Kimberley signing off for the day now, leaving you in the capable hands of our expert writers and managing editor for the rest of the day into the evening. Sadly our camera accessories order hasn’t arrived yet, but if you want to see what Kimberley got, head over to her photography Instagram page where she will be showing an unboxing of what she bought.
Bye!
Hello again all, Kate back, taking over in the Live Science live blog team distance relay. Team looking good for that podium place. And talking of running ... there's no denying these trail running shoes are pink. Very very pink. But the Saucony Endorphin Edge Trail shoes are an incredible bargain on Amazon right now - in that pink, for women, they are just $59.99, which is 70% off! Some of the other colours are also steeply discounted albeit not quite as much (the blue is $69.99) so you can find other colours if you need shades to look at that pair.
If you do a lot of off road running, especially deep into the winter months, you'll know that trail shoes offer more grip on slippery surfaces and help you stay safely on your feet. The Saucony Endorphin Edge do this particularly well, balancing grip with forward propulsion and energy return.
And if you run somewhere really muddy, that bubblegum shade will soon be a muted mud-color anyway, right? At any rate, $60 for a really highly rated trail shoe is quite the deal. Check out other running shoe bargains at our roundup of the best Cyber Monday deals.
Another running shoe bargain for you. This good-looking pair of shoes from Swiss Company On - now reduced by 40% to just $85 - features in our best running shoes round up for a reason.
On have really been on something of a roll recently, knocking out great running shoes but also hitting a bit of a fashion moment. The Cloudgo is one of their more 'basic' models but for a brand that is really all about breaking new boundaries and heavily invests in performance as well as style, you are getting a lot of value for that $85.
The only drawback with On is that they always look so good, you will need to plot increasingly elaborate running routes that carefully avoid every puddle or patch of mud, so that they stay pristine. Sorry about the extra mileage, but hey, it's all training.
When it comes to Cyber Monday deals we all tend to focus on big ticket items and tech like fitness trackers, and there are certainly great deals about. But it's also a good time for discounts on your basic, general fitness equipment too. Here's a great deal on a fitness staple - the good old kettlebell. Walmart have a set of four for $29.94, down from $69.99.
If you've not used them before, then kettlebells are a brilliant, simple piece of kit for improving your strength and conditioning. This is a good simple set, with 5lb, 10lb, 15lb and 20lb weights. With that, you can target arms, core, legs - the full works - for a great weights at home workout. Having a set means you can add weight to exercises as you progress. Top tip: if you store them in your garden or outdoor unheated space during winter, wear gloves before you pick them up! Those handles get seriously cold.
Another Garmin deal for you. This Garmin Forerunner 945 is less than half price at Walmart, down to $289.99. That's a saving of $310! This for a watch our reviwer gave four and a half stars to - and we suspect that missing half star was only because of the price tag. So the same watch for half price? Bargain!
The Garmin Forerunner 945 is truly a top-class running watch - as you'd expect from the name - but also for many other sports too. It's tracking metrics and accuracy are superb, and the battery life is good for around 2 weeks (yes, weeks) in smartwatch mode and about 36 hours in GPS. It's got an optical heart rate sensor built in, and it tracks sleep too - though it is one of the more bulky watches from Garmin, so those of us who struggle to sleep with a big watch on might not care so much for that feature.
Black Friday vs Cyber Monday: When should you buy an air purifier? As our health writer Anna Gora points out, even though discounts tend to hold steady throughout the entire Black Friday weekend, you are more likely to see steeper discounts on Cyber Monday. Retailers know that we tend to hold off on big purchases (and some of the best air purifiers can cost hundreds of dollars), pondering all the pros and cons and searching for even better deals elsewhere. That last-minute price drop is to give you enough incentive to make the final call. Insidious? Perhaps. But it works to our advantage.
For example, the BlueAir Blue Pure 211i Max has now been discounted by $150 at Best Buy, too. It has been previously been put on offer at Amazon for $199. Now, both places are matching this excellent price.
The BlueAir Blue Pure 211i Max air purifier offers an immensely good value for money (and even more so with this tasty Cyber Monday deal at Best Buy), but what if you are looking for something even more powerful? Something that can catch even smaller airborne particles? Rest assured, we have a treat for you. This excellent air purifier for large spaces and commercial premises not only does that, but it does it really well AND it is on offer this Cyber Monday.
The AirDoctor AD3500i is now priced at $449.99 at Walmart, meaning it is now $120 cheaper. We spotted the same deal at Amazon, too.
Why this air purifier, specifically? The AirDoctor AD3500 air purifier features a pre-filter and dual-action Carbon VOC filter, as well as an UltraHEPA filter that can trap a whopping 99.99% of airborne particles as small as 0.003 microns (we know it is 100x smaller than most harmful microbes known to mankind, but you can never be too sure, can't you). These big specs are not just big on paper. We were so impressed by its air-cleaning performance that we gave it 4.5/5 stars in our full review, and included it in our guides to best air purifiers and best air purifiers for allergies. The AirDoctor AD3500 is a beast, and we thoroughly recommend it.
Live Science is determined to purify your air for you. Here's another great deal, at its lowest ever price on Amazon. The Molekule Air Mini + is a great looking piece of kit, and right now it's discounted by 40% to $215 on Amazon.
Our expert reviewer was really impressed by the larger, less portable Molekule Pro so we think this price on the smaller edition is a good deal. Though we have, of course, plenty of other suggestions for mini dehumidifiers for you as well as the best Cyber Monday deals on dehumidifiers of all shapes and sizes.
Back to running shoes now ... Lululemon may be massive in athleisurewear, but they are still pretty new to the running shoe game and arguably still finding their feet. The Blissfeel 2 is certainly a great improvement on the first iteration, and quite a few colors now have up to $50 off for Cyber Monday.
But you don't actually need to save them for running. They are fantastically comfortable for walking. Lots of seasoned runners swear by them as the most supportive and cushiony recovery shoes they own. And well, you can't argue with Lululemon when it comes to design.
Too many hours hunched over a keyboard? Tight muscles that need relief? Second that. One little device that is always welcome in the kit bag of any regular gym goer is a massage device - and we've just spotted that the super-portable and premium Theragun mini has $50 off for Cyber Monday, bringing it down to $150.
One feature we really love about Therabody is the accompanying app. It connects with your device via Bluetooth and guides you through personalised routines that help address your particular aches and pains. In fact, our reviewer loved everything about the previous version except for that lack of Bluetooth connectivity - feedback the brand clearly listened to and rectified!
While the Theragun mini might be small, but it really packs a powerful percussive punch (try saying that quickly).
Another pair of running shoes for you (can anyone really have too many running shoes? Any runner will tell you the answer to that is absolutely not). The Ghost Max was well received when it came out, praised as a great all-round daily trainer, so grabbing it for around 40% off (the discount varies depending on colour and size) on Amazon is a bargain.
In fact quite a few reviewers preferred the original Ghost Max to the second version which came out recently. Updated shoes don't always please their original fans! Either way the Ghost Max definitely falls into the popular category of super cushioned daily trainers with a big wodge of protective foam. That's particularly good if you do most of your running on hard surfaces, as many of us do.
In case you missed it, our best all-rounder Fitbit, the Versa 4, has fallen to only $120 this Cyber Monday - grab it while stocks last at Walmart! That's the lowest price we've seen in six months.
In our Fitbit Versa 4 review, we gave it three and a half stars and said this smartwatch "offers real smartwatch gloss with a much longer battery life than the single day smartwatch norm" and also praised the use of color on the display.
As part of this deal you also get six months of Fitbit Premium which gives you access to extra features to help make tracking your fitness easier. Which, let's face it, many of us need over the festive period.
Good afternoon fellow science geeks, Jase Parnell-Brookes, Managing Editor for e-commerce logging in for the last shift of the day.
I wonder how I’ll spend my evening? If it’s still clear skies, perhaps I’ll do a bit of stargazing from the back garden but if not, perhaps it will be time to get out the Orzorz Galaxy Lite and be mesmerized by the stars from the sofa.
We were super impressed with the color and details of Thor’s Helmet during our review, “The projection is bright, with strikingly vivid colors, and the projection surface was pretty much our whole room.” And we loved its eco-friendly stance of being rechargeable and not needing to be permanently plugged in for great views on more cloudy winter evenings.
You can help our planet while gazing at faraway constellations and nebulas in awe. We think that sounds like a perfect night in.
It’s a lovely afternoon here with blue skies and sunshine after a rather dull and gray weekend (and we are talking about the weather here, not the fact we've been glued to our desk for most of it). To get some fresh air after all the screen time, we’ve just been out to spot buzzards and herons at the local reserve with the Celestron Regal ED 10x42 binoculars.
We love these binoculars and carry them with us often when walking the dog in the beautiful countryside nearby. We gave these 5/5 stars in our review, praising the fact it’s “chock-full of high-end optical technology” and summarising, “there's little that can out-compete these binoculars at this price point”. They are reduced slightly this Cyber Monday at $309.99 plus there's a $30 coupon (at the time of writing) so they're worth considering a purchase if you’re looking for premium binoculars and great optical technology without breaking the bank.
On rainy and cold winter days the thought of leaving your cozy home for some exercise can be miserable and this is why we love the Hydrow Wave — it brings the outdoors into your home through its immersive platform offering you the chance to experience a realistic row from your own home. And we’ve found it with an absolutely outstanding $250 off the full package, giving you extras such as a free machine mat to stop any sliding and to protect your floors and a heart rate monitor.
Plus, it scored 4.5/5 stars in our glowing Hydrow Wave rower review.
With live workouts from rowing superstars such as Olympians and pros, you can train with the very best choosing different locations to experience the virtual waters. This bonus does mean you have to purchase the app membership but at $38 a month, we feel it’s totally worth it. Hydrow is also offering a bundle package for $1665 to include six months membership which we wouldn’t hesitate to buy.
During the Black Friday weekend, we didn’t cover a huge amount of dehumidifier deals but we can’t resist telling you about this absolute bargain this Cyber Monday.
The ProBreeze Mini dehumidifier is now under £40, if you buy direct with ProBreeze. We are currently reviewing this dehumidifier and love how quiet it is. It is perfect for placing on windowsills for condensation or in small spaces. It’s neat but can only cover 250 square feet and removes a limited 18 ounces of water a day so bear this in mind if your space is larger.
This deal also allows us to highlight how some retailers will inflate their prices to make it seem like you’re getting a better deal than you are — Debenhams has this dehumidifier listed for £97.99 but our price hunting experts can see the ProBreeze Mini has sold at a maximum of £69.99 this year. So, you are still getting a fair amount off with this dehumidifier coming in at under £40 this Cyber Monday but it is good to be aware of price inflation, it’s why we’re here doing the hunting for you!
Over here at LiveScience, we love a great fitness smartwatch and with lots of Cyber Monday deals on smartwatches to sieve through, we’ve spotted this great deal saving you $80 on the Fitbit Versa 4 while also giving you access to Fitbit Premium for six months. The access to Fitbit Premium unlocks the Daily Readiness Score which is particularly helpful for those wanting to know when to rest and when to push harder.
We particularly like the colorful display on the Fitbit Versa 4 and the amount of different workout modes it offers compared to the previous model, the Fitbit Versa 3. Not only that, but the physical button is back making navigating through the various workout modes so much easier than the touch screen we saw on the Versa 3. With us voting it our best all-rounder Fitbit, we think this deal is sweet, saving a huge $80 on a genuinely great smartwatch.
Five reasons to check out the last Cyber Monday deals before they end in just a few hours time:
1. It’s only 23 days until Christmas and those presents won’t buy themselves
2. Guaranteed delivery posting times stop about a week before
3. You can literally save money on the gifts you were going to buy someone anyway
4. It’s the holiday season, TREAT YO SELF!
5. We’ve been pouring over all the deals, making sure they’re genuine and recommending the very best, you need not look anywhere else
If you do nothing else, at least take a peek at that camera you’ve wanted for a while, just to see. If you accidentally hit ‘add to basket’ and it turns up at your house, then… whoops? It was payday recently after all.
There’s nothing like the OG and Jase’s personal favorite (yes, it’s still Jase here) is the Nikon D850 DSLR. An absolute workhorse of a camera, it’s our top pick of the best DSLRs ever made. Sadly, DSLRs have been discontinued as a product for a while now but you can still shoot photos that are just as amazing as the latest mirrorless cameras with this one.
You can buy the Nikon D850 for $2196 in the last few hours of Cyber Monday.
Formerly the go-to for professional photographers all over the globe, the D850 packs a 45.7MP image sensor, up to 102,400 ISO range (expandable) and 4K UHD3840 x 2160 at 30/25/24p video. Can it do it all? Yes. Should you buy one? Yes, if you want to get maximum value for money in your camera choice. There are even several decades of incredible legacy lenses that fit this F-mount camera.
Do we want one? Yes. Do we have one? Not yet. What do we have? A Nikon D750 (arguably better for astrophotography in this Managing Editor’s opinion).
Jase Parnell-Brookes signing off now, wrapping up all the Black Friday and Cyber Monday madness that was the best sales event of the year.
