Mobile publisher Azur Games has acquired a 15 percent stake in app studio Skyrocket for $2.2 million.
Skyrocket releases projects under its development division, Neosus, and is best known for working on productivity apps like Call Recorder and Maker App.
Azur, which has published a range of casual mobile titles like Stack Ball and Modern Strike Online, said the deal is part of its “portfolio diversification strategy.”
“We’re interested in the mobile app market and we want to develop new projects with people who already have a background in this field,” said Azur co-founder Dmitry Yaminsky.
To-date, Azur’s video game catalog has amassed over 2 billion downloads, and the company is now keen to expand into the IT sector with the help of Skyrocket.
